But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord, because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.

Jeremiah 30:17

In this passage of scripture, the prophet prophesies restoration for Israel and Judah after captivity. In Jeremiah 30:3, there is a reference to restoration of promised land that was taken from God’s people. God tells them to not be afraid or dismayed in this difficult place, as He will save them out of this place of exile. Again, they will have peace and security.

In the midst of their pain and seemingly incurable injury, He will also restore their health, fortunes and dwelling places. The city will be rebuilt and the palace will stand in its proper place (Jer 30:18).

Many of us have gone through seasons of difficulty, times that feel like God is nowhere close. We feel forgotten and forsaken, and restoration seems like a laughable concept. I want to declare to you that God is the God of restoration. He can restore you despite how incurable the wounds seem.

Today, give him songs of thanksgiving and rejoicing, for our God will never forget his people. He has YOU on His mind. He declares that he will bring you close. You will be his people, and He will be your God.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for restoration. How comforting it is to know there is no place too far or state to desolate that you cannot restore me. I am never beyond your ability to restore. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
