You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples.
Psalm 77:14 (NKJV)
Over these past two weeks, we’ve focused on miracles – surprising events that can’t be explained by natural or scientific laws. They are changes that can only be attributed to a move by the hand of God. We’ve explored the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath; the turning of water into wine; the casting out of a demonic spirit; the centurion’s faith; and the woman with the issue of blood.
We can learn so much from these and other miracles that our Lord performed while He ministered here on earth. Jesus loosened the tongue of a man who could not speak (Matthew 9:32-33). Jesus cured the nobleman's son (John 4:46-47). Jesus cured Peter's mother-in-law of a fever (Mark 1:30-31). Jesus healed a leper (Mark 1:40-45). Jesus cured the paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8).
Jesus restored a withered hand (Matthew 12:10-13). Jesus cured a demon-possessed man (Matthew 12:22). Jesus fed at least five thousand people (Matthew 14:15-21). Jesus healed a woman of Canaan (Matthew 15:22-28).
PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for your ministry here on earth. Thank you for the miracles that you performed. Thank you for evidence of your supernatural power. Thank you for reminding me that you still work miracles. Breathe on my situation. I’m expecting a miracle. Please do what only you can do. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
