The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

Revelation 21:23

Jesus is the only light. All of the other light will eventually go away. Our light in our fireplaces have to be put out. Light generated from the light bulb will eventually run out. Even when we consider the sun and stars, those lights will go away. Joel 2: 10 points to a time when the earth will quake, and the heavens tremble, and the sun, moon and stars will be dark. Revelation 21:23 states that the New Jerusalem will have no need of the sun or moon for the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. Jesus is the only light.

PRAYER: Lord, you are the only light. There are things out here that appear to be light, but they are not. Let me embrace your light by studying your Word, learning your Word, and meditating on your Word. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
