Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

This is a powerful passage of scripture. Don’t you remember the Corinthians who had the spiritual gift conflict. Some of them thought they were better than the others because of the spiritual gifts God had given them. In this passage, Paul tells them in whatever they do, Christ’s glory should be their motivation.

How many of us have felt better than others, because we did not struggle with one sin or the other? It ought not be that way. Obedience should be sincere and for the glory of God. It is your job to advertise Christ in the earth, not boast in your flesh. If you do well, it is because of the Lord. Remember that it is Christ who works in you both to will and do His good pleasure.

PRAYER: Lord, I want my obedience to be sincere—not using it as an opportunity to boast in what I do for you. Help me to keep it all in perspective. It is not about me; it is about you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
