And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
1 Peter 5:10
We have been in a season where we have been ravaged. We have been in the midst of one crisis after another. From bad politicians, poor race relations, and everything in between, we have seen some rough times. If you are reading this devotional, you are probably in the middle of your life. You know what it’s like to experience losses and pain. You have seen parents get older, sicker, frailer, but you may also have seen the pain of younger family members who follow behind you. Life can get pretty tough.
Most of us can cope with the pain physically, mentally, or even emotionally, but things can become a bit difficult to navigate spiritually. If we are being totally honest with ourselves, we have questions about our pain. Those unanswered questions can lead to a spiritual disconnection and difficulties. Some of us may have become so desolate that we even question the very existence of God.
For every challenge, God has solutions for us through his Word, by His Spirit, and from His people. Over the next 3-5 weeks, we will work on rebuilding the walls that have fallen and the faith that has been faltering. We will focus on five key principles: restoration, revival, renewal, refreshing, and replenishing.
PRAYER: Lord, I believe that this is the season of restoration. I believe that you, by your sovereign will, have allowed these difficulties to touch my life. Lord, let me use these difficulties to become better and stronger. Holy Spirit, have your way in my life. I want these things to be consecrated for the good and for your glory. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
