Answered Prayer

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 John 5:14

Hannah (1 Samuel 1:1) Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”

Peter (Acts12:5-7) Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.

Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:23) and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”

Hannah, Peter, and Jairus’ daughter. They prayed and/or prayer was offered on their behalf of them, and God spoke to their situations.

God’s Word is full of promises regarding prayer. Jeremiah 29:12 reads, “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Psalm 18:6 says, “In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.” Psalm 145:18 reminds us that the Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. And Colossians 4:2, says, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving:

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the privilege of prayer, and praise you that you speak to me when I pray. Your Word reminds me to rejoice always, to pray continually, and to give thanks in all circumstances. Help me always to be faithful in prayer. I thank you for telling me great and unsearchable things that I do not know as I grow in you. In the name of Jesus, I give you glory and praise. Amen
