When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
James 4:6
When we walk in pride, we set ourselves up for disgrace. Wise people walk in wisdom. What are some examples of walking in humility? Here are a few listed below:
Knowing that you are not better than anyone else, knowing that all humans are made in the image of God, despite their lot in life;
Not bragging about your achievements, gifts, possessions;
Being able to apologize when you have wronged someone; and
Being honest about what you know or don’t know.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, let my walk and talk reflect a servant who relies on you, alone. Let me not be moved by what I have or what I have done. Remind me, when I need the reminder, that you are the source of any strengths I have. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
