HIS WORD
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
In 2007, a woman wrote a letter to Dr. Billy Graham. She said that she knew she needed to read the Bible, but that it was confusing, filled with strange names and places. She asked if God’s word was really that important. Noticing that she signed her letter “Mrs.,” the pastor asked if she’d ever gotten a letter from her husband-to be and decided not to bother reading it because the handwriting was poor, that she was busy, or for another reason. Dr. Graham wrote, “And yet that's what many of us do with the Bible. The Bible is God's ‘love letter’ to us, telling us not only that He loves us, but showing us what He has done to demonstrate His love. It tells us how we should live because God knows what is best for us, and He wants us to experience it. Never forget: The Bible is God's Word, given to us so we can know and follow Him.”
PRAYER: Father, I thank you for your Word, your love letter – the Bible. Your Word is a gift. It’s my road map, my compass, my guide. Help me to always treasure it. Thank you for its instructions and principles. Remind me that your guidance will never contradict your Word. Equip me through it for good works. May it pierce my soul and spirit. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
