Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

Ezekiel 37:4-6

Now, what occurs next in this chapter is interesting. Certainly, the Spirit of the Lord could have spoken to those bones. Surely, He could have commanded the bones to come alive. It could have been similar to Elijah on Mount Carmel when Elijah prayed, and the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifices and licked up the water. It could have been like Moses at the Red Sea when he puts his arm out at God’s command and parts the waters so that millions of people can cross over safely. But in this passage, Ezekiel is commanded to prophesy to the bones. God tells him, if you prophesy, I will show up.

Today, prophesy to your dry bones. Speak to the places that have been dry and without hope. Speak to the places you thought would never live again. Prophesy to your body, your marriage, your children, your job. Give the Lord permission to provide heavenly intervention to your spiritual situation.

Exercise of the Day: Prophesy life!

PRAYER: Lord, I speak life into my situation. I don’t know exactly what your plans are for my life, but I trust you. I believe that you will respond to my prophesy according to your will for my life. Tell me what to speak to. I need your direction and words. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
