For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Colossians 1:20
As we begin to count our blessings, one of our biggest ones is the peace that Christ brings. We must remember that before Christ the world was separated from God with no means of salvation. Yes, we were given the law, but there was no way for anyone to meet the righteous demands required for salvation.
It was by this Man, Jesus Christ, that we would be able to be reconciled to God. The word of the Lord says that Christ made peace through his blood. The word of the Lord also says that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. I can walk with Christ, not because of my good works, but because of Christ’s shed blood.
Romans 5:1 says that being justified by faith, we have peace with God. All efforts on our part fall short of God’s requirement for peace with him. Christ is our only answer.
PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for breaking the middle wall partition between man and God. It is because of your shed blood that we walk before our God justified by faith. Thank you for your peace. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
