“I Will Trust in the Lord”
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Psalm 56:3-4
During revival meetings when the singing of a hymn got really “good,” the leader would end by adding another song. They would sing, “I will trust in the Lord, I will trust in the Lord, I will trust in the Lord, until I die.”
This psalmist is declaring his trust in God. He says that when I am afraid, I will trust in You. That is a huge declaration, especially in these days when there are so many threats. We are still dealing with a disease that has the potential to take lives without warning. Prices are soaring. I just paid nearly $7 for a case of WATER! If you have a 401K or similar retirement account, you have no idea how much money you might lose during this economic decline. We have plenty to fear. Despite what comes to challenge our confidence, nothing has changed; we will trust in the Lord.
PRAYER: Lord, I declare this song to you today and remind myself that I trust in you. It doesn’t matter how difficult the challenge or concern. I put my trust in you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
