Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before…

Acts 3:19-20

This particular passage is found in the middle of Peter’s sermon after healing a blind beggar. He begins by telling them to repent and be changed so that their sins are blotted out, THEN they can experience times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. It looks like Peter is referring to the time when Jesus would return and rule in righteousness, but there is a hint of the refreshing we experience now, when we are walking in sync with him.

PRAYER: Lord, I look forward to the times of refreshing, when Jesus comes and sets up his glorious kingdom on earth, ruling in righteousness. I also thank you for refreshing me in your presence during worship. I appreciate the fellowship with you and the ability to refresh myself despite what happens in my day.
