That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19
This passage says that in Christ, God reconciled the world to himself. Just think about that. His intention in sending Christ was you and me. He is God and could have anything He wants, but he desires man. He wants to walk with man, despite man’s shortcomings and propensity to disappoint him. He wanted to walk with man so badly, that he became sin to redeem us back to him.
One of the other practical points in this scripture is that he does not count our sins against us. That is a lot to take in. I was just sharing with a cousin today how someone had said some things against me that cut me to the core. I told her that the statements hurt me so much that I would never allow that person to hurt me like that again.
Those words come to me tonight, as I read how good our God is. Despite what I do or say, he does not count my sins against me.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for the peace I have with you. I am amazed that you do not count my sins against me. Peace with you is one of my biggest blessings. In the name of Jesus, I ask these things and give you praise. Amen.
