“Amazing Grace”

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

There were times when we would be in a special service and someone would get up and sing this. I am not talking about the traditional “Amazing Grace.” I am talking about the one that says, “Amazing grace shall always be my song of praise, for it was grace that bought my liberty. I do not know just how he came to love me so. He looked beyond my fault and saw my need.”

The fact of the matter is that this is everybody’s song. This is the gospel message. It is by grace through faith that we are saved. No one can earn this. God graciously gives it away. We ALL have reason to be grateful. We are all saved by grace. It is amazing grace that cannot be merited.

PRAYER: Thank you for this amazing grace that bought my salvation. Thank you for loving me so much that you did not allow me to die in my trespasses and sin. I am not amazing! You are! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
