“I Know Jesus Is a Waymaker”

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6

There was a woman in our community who folks called Ms. Mookie. When we had a 5-night revival at our church and she walked in the door, you knew you were going to hear about Jesus being a Waymaker. There was just something about the way she sang it. She seemed to be a woman of few words and came into the church with dark glasses, but when she sang that song, it felt like she was opening her soul to everyone in that church. After she sang that song, you knew her story.

The fact of the matter is that Jesus declared that he was a Waymaker thousands of years before Ms. Mookie came to our church. He declares in this scripture that he is the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to God unless he comes through Christ. Now this is what Ms. Mookie sang. She sang, “When my life was dark and dreary, Jesus came, and he answered my prayer. One day, He made a way, Jesus made a way for me.”

PRAYER: Lord, I praise you for being a Waymaker. My Waymaker. Our Waymaker. Your Word says that you came to seek and to save that which was lost. Thank you for seeking and saving me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
