…whoever refreshes others will be refreshed
Proverbs 11:25b
We get to share in God’s divine nature. Isn’t that powerful? That means that as we progress in our sanctification, characteristics of our Lord’s nature become ours (2 Peter 1:4). We have learned that one of the things our Lord does is refresh others, so he expects us to do the same.
In this passage of scripture, the author declares that as we refresh others, we will be refreshed. When you look at the word that notes what we are to do, it means that we quench the thirst, we drench, we refresh, we satisfy. It is important to note that a different word is used for the second “refreshed.” The refreshment we experience denotes to experience water upon, rain, shower.
PRAYER: Remind me to always consider those who need to be refreshed. When we give that refreshment to others, we get refreshed. Thank you, Lord, for reminding me of this. Let me always be ready to refresh someone in need. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
